Nepalis can go to Romania on worker visa,
Arrangements will be made for Nepalis to go to Romania on work visas. Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha (farmer) has urged Nepalis who want to go to Romania for employment to make arrangements to apply for visa from Nepal.
Nepali workers going to Romania for foreign employment are currently forced to go to New Delhi, the capital of India, for visa processing. Having to stay in New Delhi for a long time for visa process has also increased the cost unnecessarily.
According to Shrestha’s private secretariat, Shrestha made the request during a meeting with newly appointed Romanian Ambassador to Nepal Daniela Sezonov Ten, who paid a courtesy call on him on Thursday.
During the meeting at the Ministry, mutual relations between Nepal and Romania and bilateral interests as well as visa process for Nepalis wishing to go to Romania for employment were discussed.
In the last five years, 7,618 people have gone to Romania from Nepal. For Romania, 209 workers were approved in September and 250 in November.
Minister Shrestha said that the number of Nepalis going to Romania from Nepal is increasing and the interest of Nepalis towards Romanian employment has increased.
Expressing gratitude to the Romanian government for its positive response to the draft of the labor agreement sent by Nepal to Nepal, Shrestha said that Nepal was willing to work in mutual understanding with Romania.Bilateral diplomatic relations were established between Nepal and Romania in 1968.
